<hi style=afpcap>Production of the B-24 Liberator exceeded that of any other single US aircraft type during World War Two. The Liberator performed many different roles, with its most important contribution to the ending of the war being a heavy bomber in the Pacific region. Understandably the Consolidated Aircraft Corporation was unable to manufacture the huge number of orders themselves, with several other production facilities being formed, including Convair at San Diego, California and Fort Worth, Texas; as well as Douglas, Ford and North American.</hi>
